Teachers of Haripurwa Municipality and Chandranagar Rural Municipality staged a pen-down strike and tied black on their arms as a form of protest on October 15 after not receiving a salary during the festival season. The teacher alleged that they were forced to form a protest as their concerns were not addressed and they had not received their salary since July. The demonstrators alleged that due to political interest they were in trouble and after not receiving salary and bonus during Dashain, they had to face economic hardships.
