Dhan Giri Sarki, a 70-year-old man of Chabisthathibheri rural municipality-2 in Bajhang, has been arrested on the charge of raping a 6-year-old minor girl on August 25 three times by luring her with treats.

The incident became public when the girl was playing in the field with her relatives, she hid in fear when she saw the accused Sarki. After her relatives asked the girl why she was hiding, the girl told  them about the incident. According to Ramesh Abasthi, the Information Officer of the District Police Office, Sarki has confessed to the crime during interrogation. Police have started investigation into the incident by arresting the accused elderly man. According to police, a medical examination of the victim showed that she had sustained injuries in her private organ.
