The general public staged a demonstration in Kathmandu on January 21 demanding to ensure air safety. The demonstrators demanded to stop political appointments in the aviation sector and appoint an expert and experienced director general. Likewise, the demonstrators demanded that the Civil Aviation Authority should be made a separate independent regulatory body by making it a service provider only and to stop importing airplanes old than 10 years.
