The locals of Gaidakot of Nawalparasi East staged a demonstration on April 6, demanding to stop construction work on Narayani River Bank towards Chitwan. The demonstrators alleged that the Narayani River will affect them as the Bharatpur Metropolis has been constructing large structures along the river bank.

A structure is being built in the Sea Beach model on the upper bank of the Narayani Bridge of the East-West Highway. Bharatpur Metropolitan City has considered it a pride project. On the Nawalpur side in Nawalparasi East, there is only a general plan of the embankment. Gokul Sapkota, the coordinator of the Struggle Committee to Gaindakot, said that he had to protest because the structure was built on one side and the river would affect the other side during the rainy season.
