Shanta Kumar Rai, of Panchthar Phalelung-6 committed suicide after making his wife seriously injured from Khukuri attack. As per the district police office, Panchthar 57 year old Rai committed suicide at the nearby jungle after making the the 56 year old wife injured. 

Rai, who was mourning the death of his mother at their ancestral house went to his house in the pretext of going to toilet and attacked his wife with Khukuri on April 29. The injured wife is undergoing treatment at BNC Hospital in Jhapa. Police suspect that, Rai attacked the wife with the intent of murder.
