Activists stage a sit-in protest in Maitighar with a demand to curb pollution in Sirsiya River

The activists from Birgunj have been staging a sit-in protest in Maitighar-Kathmandu demanding pollution and encroachment free Sirsiya river. They carried water of Sirsiya river in bottles protesting symbolically against the pollution and encroachment.
The Home Minister also met the activists on June 7, and verbally committed to address the issues raised. However, the activists demanded a written commitment.
