A man in Gamhariya Birta of Rautahat thrashed his wife after she asked him not to have extra-marital affairs. Kiran Devi Sah asked his 30-year-old husband Dipendra Prasad to end his affair with a local woman. In return, the man beat her black and blue repeatedly, she said. The couple married 10 years ago. They have two sons aged 8 and 6. Kiran Devi said she had learned that her husband was in an illicit relationship with a local woman for the last two years. Though the victim complained about the issue with her parents, the case could not come out due to their fear that it may harm her image in society, she said. The parents' reluctance encouraged Dipendra to continue the abuse, she added. But after she got an injury on her left eye last night, the victim left the home and approached the District Police Office to file a complaint on Friday. Police Inspector Ram Prakash Chaudhary said police are searching for Dipendra and the woman who is in the affair with him to investigate the case. Meanwhile, the woman accused her in-laws of not offering any help to protect her from frequent abusive activities.
