Police have arrested 35-year-old Ashok Syangtan of Kulekhani VDC-2 on January 26 on the charge of raping a 44-year-old woman. According to DSP Dipak Thapa, Syangtan barged into the house of the victim on the night of January 25 while nobody was around and raped her after gagging her on January 25. The victim had filed a complaint at the Area Police Office Palung on January 26. She underwent a health check-up at the Primary Health Centre in Palung the same day.
