24-year-old Sanju Kumari Mandal Khanga of Jamuni Madhepura-2 filed a complaint at the District Court requesting a divorce from her 26-year-old Bharat Lal Mandal. She said that her husband has been denying her legal and social rights as a wife, depriving her of food, clothes, and also refusing to register their marriage legally. She reported that she was compelled to seek refuge in her maternal home after her husband expelled her from the house on January 29.
