The family of Doleshwor Regmi, 35, of Myanglung Municipality-12, has accused police of inflicting torture on him inside police custody. They said that police injured him after arresting him on February 13 on the charges of cheating. Regmi's relatives appealed to INSEC representative to take steps for his treatment. They said that Regmi's health condition worsened in the last three days even after being taken to District Hospital, claiming that his physical and mental condition was stable before police arrested him. Police admitted him at the District Hospital on February 18 after he was unable to take food and speak. Assistant Chief District Officer Jayram Shrestha said that arrangements would be made for his treatment.
