Appellate Court Rajbiraj has issued a mandamus order to District Police Office on February 22 to register and investigate a complaint filed by Mayawati Devi Mandal, 30, of Malekpur VDC-5. The division bench of Bal Krishna Upreti and Tej Bahadur Rai issued the order, lawyer Samim Akhtar said. Mayawati had a miscarriage of her 3-month pregnancy when her brother-in-law Bhunilal Mandal, 55, his sons Jibachha, 30 and Arbinda, 28, hit on her womb with a spade handle on October 23, 2014. She received treatment at Gajendra Narayan Singh Zonal Hospital and there the doctor said that she had lost her baby due to the physical assault, Mayawati’s husband Parameshwar Mandal aka Shankar said. He filed the complaint against his elder brother and assailant Bhunilal on October 28 and her medical checkup was conducted at the Zonal Hospital on October 30. When the police refused to register the complaint, he moved Appellate Court asking for injunction with mandamus against District Police Office and District Administration Office on November 30, 2014.
