District Police Office (DPO) has arrested Muktar Miya, 25, of Pakari VDC-9 on February 20 on charge of polygamy based on the complaint lodged by his wife Ashma Khatun, 19. The accused was remanded on date for five days by a court order on February 22 for further investigation. The victim lodged a complaint at DPO on February 20 after her husband married Aasasha Khatun alias Dil Kumari and brought her to his home along with a nine-month-old baby. Asma got married two years ago according to Muslim tradition. She has been displaced to her parental home along with her one and half year old son after the incident.
