Area Police Office, Birtamod has arrested Nabin Chudal of Birtamod Municipality-7 on the charge of raping a girl. He is accused of raping a 9-year-old girl of Ilam district and visiting her aunt in Birtamod around 5 pm on April 16 when the aunt had gone to the market. The incident came to light when the aunt found her crying at the room upon her return from the market and the aunt interrogated her. The aunt took the girl to the Area Police Office, Birtamod to file a complaint which led to Chudal's arrest immediately. The girl was taken to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for medical checkup, DSP Sanjay Raut informed. The aunt said, "She heard the girl shouting as she came in but at that time she did not pay much attention but when she kept on crying, I asked her what happened and then she told about the incident". The girl's aunt had been living at the house of the accused as tenants for the last few years. The aunt has filed a written complaint against the accused on April 17.
