85-year-old elderly woman Deurupa Gurung of Palungtar, Gorkha was seriously injured after being beaten up by her own grandson. Gurung was beaten by her 36-year-old grandson Gagan Gurung. Her eyes were gouged out after being attacked with different household equipment. The elderly woman was beaten over a dispute during dinner time on April 1. The victim's relative Goma Gurung informed that she completely lost her eyesight due to the beating. She is undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College. District Police informed that the woman's condition is very critical. Police arrested the accused grandson.
