A 14-year-old mentally unstable girl has been raped by a policeman in Kandaghari of Kathmandu. According to police, junior policeman Ramdhir Mahar who was on duty in the Eastern gate of Tribhuwan International Airport raped a mentally unstable girl at around 7:00 am in the evening after consuming alcohol. He reportedly dragged the victim to a public toilet and raped her. Upon hearing the victim's cry locals reached the public toilet and found the perpetrator raping the victim in his police uniform. A spokesperson for Kathmandu Metropolitan Police SP Bishworaj Pokhrel said that the entire Police circle has been ashamed by the policeman's act. A formal complaint has been filed against the perpetrator and he has been arrested by the police for further action.
