The district court of Kanchanpurn decided to sentence all the defendants accused in the rape case of a woman from Punarbas municipality in February 2015 to 11 years in prison. The verdict comes following the decision of the appellate court which annulled the district court's earlier verdict to release 5 accused men on bail. The government lawyer's office had appealed against the district court's decision to grant bail to the accused. A single bench of justice Bhojraj Adhikari issued the verdict of 11 years in prison to all the six accused men. The court has also decided to fine the accused rupees forty thousand to compensate the victim.
