Police have arrested Fulchan Sutihar, 55, on July 30 on charge of attempting to kill his 18-year-old daughter-in-law of Rampura Malhaniya VDC-9. According to District Police Office, a case of murder attempt has been filed against the accused. Inspector Laldwoj Subedi said that search for another accused Sunil Sutihar, 30, brother-in-law of the victim, is ongoing. The victim was married according to social traditions to Anil Kumar Sutihar, 22, on March 22, 2013. The accused mistreated her after her husband left for foreign employment to Malaysia a year later. They beat her up and forced her to take poison on May 20, 2015 accusing her of being characterless. The victim is undergoing treatment at Kathmandu following treatment at Dharan-based BPKIHS and Shree Hospital Pvt. Ltd. in Biratnagar. Bed-ridden for two months, the victim is not able to walk and she stammers while speaking. The victim gets frightened seeing strangers and starts crying.
