A Dalit woman from Fulbariya-7, currently Mirchaiya municipality in Siraha has been physically assaulted for touching public well water. Local woman Kabita Devi Sadaya sustained blue marks on different parts of the body and bled through her nose after being beaten, Lal Yadav. Lal Yadav insulted and beat Kabita after Lal's daughter informed him that Kabita had used a bucket from which she drank water to draw water from the public well. The illiterate victim lodged complaint against the attacker, Lal Yadav, in the police with the help of Dalit Women's organization in Mirchaiya and Nepal National Dalit welfare society Lahan. Police have launched search out for Lal Yadav who went on the run after the incident.
