A 72-year-old elderly man who was found guilty of sexually abusing a 13-year-old minor girl for two years has been arrested by the police. The elderly perpetrator, Bharat Sharma who was sentenced to eight years in prison by the district court of Kathmandu on the same charge had been fleeing ever since the verdict was issued. He was arrested by the central investigation bureau of the police and sent to Dillibazar jail. Bharat's crime had come to light when the victim, 13-year-old minor who used to work in his house revealed to her teacher that she had failed in the exam because of the mental torture suffered from Bharat's continuous sexual abuse. Sami Rai, a staff of Maiti Nepal had lodged a complaint against the accused elderly man. He was declared guilty and sentenced to eight years by the district court of Kathmandu on November 9, 2014.
