Curfew withdrawn in Jumla

The local administration has withdrawn the curfew from Wednesday morning which was affective for last four days here in the district. The curfew was clamped in different parts of the district for an indefinite period on Sunday. The curfew was withdrawn citing possible inconvenience to the people residing at Badimalika area on the occasion of Nagpanchami, Dipendra Raj Adhikari Poudel, Chief District Officer (CDO), confirmed. A meeting held between the demonstrators and the local administration on Tuesday had decided to carry out the protest program on in a restrained manner. With the withdrawal of the curfew, market places, bazaar in the district, shops have been opened and movement of people has also increased. Locals had been protesting since one week demanding an autonomous Karali state.
