Police have filed a case of homicide against those involved in pelting stones at a motorcyclist who later succumbed to injuries. District Court Banke has extended the custody of Shiva Shankar Bhat of Ganapur VDC by six days on September 6. Karan Singh Thakuri, 22, of Naubasta VDC-2 died on September 4 when he was hit by stones hurled by agitators as he was heading Kohalpur from Nepalgunj in a motorcycle. The accused was arrested in Ganapur VDC on September. Police arrested a total of 31 men on the charges of being involved in the incident but 28 of them were released after the inquiry. The other two arrested villagers- Dharmendra Barma and Pradeep Gadariya of Ganapur VDC are charged under the Public Offence Act for vandalizing vehicles SP Basanta Panta said. The family of the deceased received the body on September 6 for the funeral after the accused were charged.
