3 injured as SLMM cadres vandalize vehicles in Bhardaha

Three persons were injured when cadres of SLMM (Samyukta Lokatantrik Madhesi Morcha) resorted to vandalism on vehicles being escorted by police at Bhardaha of Saptari on Saturday night. 13-year-old Gautam Kumar Yadav, 37-year-old Padam Bahadur Das of Kakkadbhitta and 25-year-old Raj Kumar Lopchan of Phaparbari, Makawanpur were injured when the supporters of SLMM pelted stones at the vehicles that were parked in Bhardaha. Among the injured Yadav is being treated in Biratnagar while Das and Lopchan has been sent to Dharan for treatment. Police are currently investigating the number of vehicles that were damaged during the incident. Transport entrepreneurs said that 60 to 70 vehicles have suffered damag in the incident. Meanwhile, transport entrepreneurs have complained that police's escort have not been effective. They have been compelled to drive under insecurity. Due to ongoing protest by SLMM in different parts of Tarai, vehicles have not been able to operate during the day.
