United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Thursday formed a human chain along the postal highway in different Terai districts. The chain was formed as per the decision of the UDMF on Wednesday to form a 1555 km long human chain along the postal highway from Mechi to Mahakali as an expression of protest against the new constitution. A 45 km long human chain was formed in Saptari district. Likewise, it stretched to 38.47 km in Mahottari. Chairman of the Sadvavana Party Rajendra Mahato, who was a part of the chain in Birgunj, said that the record-breaking human chain was formed "This chain is a symbol of unity among Madhesi and Tharu communities against those in power," he said. "This human wall is a challenge to the state." According to him, about 15 lakhs unarmed public participated to create about 1100 km long human chain.
