Villagers clash with SLMM cadres in Nawalparasi

Locals clashed with the cadres of SLMM after the later obstructed the locals from bringing items for daily use from the Indian market near Nepal-India border in Paklihawa of Nawalparasi on Sunday. According to police inspector Jagatbandhu Pokhrel of Belatari area police office the clash ensued after the SLMM cadres who were staging a sit-in in Nahathi Nagar of border town Paklihawa-1 threw away the items the villagers had brought from Indian town near the border. Five persons including Vice-chairman of Tarai Madhes Lokatantrik Party Hridayesh Tripathi and his personal secretary Karan Hussein were injured during the incident. Hussein said that a minor clash occurred after the SLMM supporters attempted to stop some men who were bringing petrol from India.
