Tharuhat lifts banda for Dashain-Tihar

Tharuhat/Tharuwan protestors have lifted the transportation strike in Kailali for few days in view of the upcoming Dashain festival. In a press conference organised at Dhangadhi on Saturday, the protestors informed that they had eased the protests in view of the festive season. They informed that transportation and market places in the district will remain open. However, they said that they would not allow the operation of long route vehicles and goods carriers. They also informed that they have made changes in the form of their protests for until November 1. The protestors have announced the campaigns like painting walls with ‘Tharu autonomous state’, setting up black flags while yielding crops, terming the Dashain ‘black’, and conducting public awareness programs during Dashain-Tihar duration. Leaders including Tharuhat Struggle Committee Spokesperson Madhav Chaudhary and Nepali Congress District Secretary Khem Chaudhary were present in the press conference. The press release distributed in the press conference has the signatures of Tharuhat Struggle Committee Chairperson Horilal Chaudhary, Rana Tharu Struggle Committee coordinator Malmati Rana and Kathariya Tharu Struggle Committee coordinator Suraj Kathariya.
