7 arrested on black marketing charges, 1900 lts of petrol confiscated

Police arrested seven people from Kalanki in the Capital on Wednesday morning on the charge of black-marketing petroleum products. A team from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Kathmandu also confiscated around 1900 liters of petrol stored by the arrestees to sell it on the black market. The arrestees are Kapil Budathoki, Hari Prasad Timilsina, Tanka Prasad Timilsina, Ghana Shyam Risal, Tok Bahadur Pakhrin, Ratna Bahadur Shrestha, and Ganga Kumar Shrestha. The team, acting on a tip-off, raided the house of Budathoki in Kalanki at around 6 am on Wednesday and confiscated around 1710 liters of petrol hidden in a tin-roofed hut belonging to Budathoki and the remaining petrol from a plastic jerrycan hidden in a parked taxi.
