25-year-old Sonawatidevi Sardar of Bhaudaha VDC-4 has filed a complaint against her husband in the district police office on the charge of being engaged in polygamy on Thursday. In the complaint filed Sonawatidevi reported that her husband, 30-year-old Chandu Sardar married 26-year-old Rambha Rishidev of Tetariya VDC on October 19, although he is already married to Sonawati. She also complained that the newly married couple broke her left hand by assaulting her and have threatened to kill her. Following the victim's complaint, the District Police Office has initiated an investigation into the incident by taking the accused into custody.
