Nepalis protest Indian blockade in Geneva

Nepali people living in Switzerland staged a demonstration against India’s unofficial embargo on Nepal during the 23rd session of United Nations Human Rights Council’s Universal Periodic Review outside Geneva-based UN office on Thursday. Around 60 people participated in the event in which former Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Jiba Lamichane was also present. The participants carried placards against India’s unofficial blockade against Nepal. Human rights activists, Dalit rights activists, women activists and journalists, who had arrived in Switzerland to participate in the UPR session, also joined in the protest to express solidarity.
