Supporters of the agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) took out a rally and organized a protest assembly in Biratnagar on Sunday. The SLMM had brought a large number of people who were brought from several parts of Morang for the rally. Attending the rally participants, Chairman of Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal Upendra Yadav said national unity cannot be maintained unless the rights to the Madhesi people are granted. He blamed the major political parties for the current crisis which has pushed the country on the brink of disintegration. Chairman of Sadbhawana Party Rajendra Mahato said the Madhes protest was not aimed at a certain group or community. Our protest is about providing equal rights to all Nepali people, he said. Chairman of Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party Mahendra Raya Yadav said federating the country was meaningless without granting the Madhesi community their rights. The SLMM leaders accused the government of suppressing their protest but said that they will not bow down.
