Police arrested two leaders of Madhesi Morcha after they tried to obstruct the border checkpoint. District President of Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Loktantrik Mahendra Yadav and District President of Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party Ajay Berma were arrested when they tried to obstruct the Sunauli-Belahiya border point. DSP Rameshwor Karki of the District Police Office said that the duo was arrested as they tried to obstruct the no-mans-land with some cadres. The other cadres ran away after the police arrested the two leaders. According to Bhairahawa Customs, about 100 vehicles enter Nepal through the checkpoint daily following the protest of Madhesi Morcha ongoing for the past 4 months. 400 vehicles used to enter through the point at other times.
