A 16-year-old, who was sitting next to the targeted girl, had also suffered burn injuries in the incident at Jhonchhe, Basantapur. BK of Ramechhap was awarded a 10-year jail sentence as per the ‘Attempt to Murder’ Chapter of the Muluki Ain underground that acid throwing may result in the death of a victim. It is the maximum jail-term provisioned by the ‘Attempt to Murder’ Chapter of the Muluki Ain. Prem Magar, the father of the 15-year-old victim, told THT that his family was happy with the verdict. “Though we somewhat felt a sense of justice for what had happened to my young daughter, she will have to suffer and live with the scars left behind by the attack.”
