The district court of Dhading has sentenced a person accused of raping a disabled woman to 10 years in prison. The convict, 45-year-old Hari Kumar Shrestha of Katunje-9 was arrested by the police on August 22, 2015, following the complaint by the victim's relatives at the police. The victim's relatives reported that Shrestha raped the woman on July 22 at Tripureshwor VDC while she was returning home. The victim was 5 months into pregnancy at the time of the incident. The decision to sentence Shrestha was made by a bench of district court justice Ishwor Raj Acharya on Monday. The court decision has also imposed a fine of rupees twenty-five thousand on the convict.
