Police arrested five individuals, returning from a funeral ceremony, on charges of covering up a murder from Danav river-based Bogdiyaghat in Rupandehi on Monday. According to the District Police Office, the five individuals have been charged with the murder of Sunita Mallah of Sipwa VDC-6 and her unborn 8-month child. The police arrested Sunita’s husband, 26-year-old Shailesh Mallah, 60-year-old father Ratan Mallah, along with Shiva Das Kalwar, Shivad Mallah, and Suraj Mallah for helping in organizing the funeral to cover-up the crime. The police claimed that Shailesh, in a drunken state, hit eight months pregnant Sunita in her abdominal area when she was sleeping which led to her death.
