Police have arrested Dil Bahadur Shrestha, 65, of Bharaul VDC-3 on January 15 on a charge of raping a six-year-old girl. According to DSP Chiranjibi Koirala of District Police Office Sunsari, Shrestha was arrested after the victim's father filed a complaint at the Area Police Office. He accused Shrestha of raping the girl after luring her with foodstuffs at the shop in his house on January 14. The victim underwent a medical check-up at the District Hospital Inaruwa on January 15. DSP Koirala said that investigation is ongoing after keeping the accused in the custody of APO. Police said that the accused would be charged under rape.
