21-year-old Phiroj Rayin, a resident of Dhirapur-9 has been arrested in accusation of raping an 18-year-old girl. As per the information received from District Police Office, Mahottari, Rayin was arrested for allegedly raping a girl from Majhaur Bishnapur on January 9. Police are investigating into the case by holding the accused into custody. Police have charged him under the Rape Act. Similarly, Sambhu Yadav, a resident of Sonaul who was arrested for attempted rape, has been remanded into custody. Yadav allegedly attempted rape on an 18-year-old girl who was living with her maternal uncle's family in Sonaul. According to the Litigation Section, the arrested attempted to rape the girl on December 20 at around 3 pm while she was collecting fodder in bamboo bushes. Yadav was arrested on December 20 and was presented at the District Court, Mahottari. Police informed that the court ordered the accused to be remanded into custody.
