A teenage boy has severely injured a girl by attacking her with a knife for allegedly rejecting his love proposal. Phul Kumari Magar (17) of Bohori Bot in Panchawati VDC-4 in Udayapur district was severely injured in the incident. Also injured was her cousin Geeta Rana Magar (14) who tried to raise an alarm against the attack. Purna Bahadur Sarki (16) of Bhutar VDC-8 in the district has been charged with attacking the two girls at their home last night, according to District Police Office, Udayapur. The boy reportedly climbed into the room of Phul Kumari from the window at around 11:00 pm last night, and attacked her with a knife, causing injuries to her head and chest. He also attacked Geeta, who was sleeping with her aunt, after she raised an alarm against the intruder, police inspector Rajendra Basnet said. Seriously injured Phul Kumari has been rushed to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Meanwhile, a search operation has been intensified to find Sarki, who fled following the incident, police said.
