Police arrested 5 cadres of SLMM in Rupandehi district today for attempting to enforce bandh in the district with the intent of foiling CPN UML's mass gathering program slated to be held at Bhairahawa today. Prime minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to participate in the program. The arrested have been identified as General Secretary of Anil Jha led Sadbhawana Party - Harischandra Singh, Rupandehi district chairman of Tarai Madhes Democratic Party - Ajay Verma, Ravi Yadav of the same party, Rambilas Yada of Federal Socialist Party Nepal, and Tulasiram Yadav. Of the arrested Verma, Yadav and Singh were arrested from Bangai where they were attempting to obstruct transportation, informed DSP Rameshwor Karki of Rupandehi District Police Office. The other two were arrested from Suryapura. Meanwhile, Rupandehi district chairman of Socialist Forum Party Nepal and district coordinator of SLMM - Mahendra Yadav accused the police of arresting the SLMM cadres from tea-shop without any provocation.
