Police have arrested 25-year-old Kamal Kishor Shah alias Kamal of Rajbiraj Municipality-5 on March 1. Shah, who was absconding on the charge of being involved in gang-rape of a 16-year-old girl was arrested at a road in Rajbiraj-5. The District Court on May 7, 2015, issued warrants against 21-year-old Phudin Khan of Maleth VDC-7, 24-year-old Shambhu Shh of Rajbiraj Municipality-3, 28-year-old Nabin Datt of Rajbiraj-5, and 2o-year-old Dipesh Kumar Yadav of Nargho VDC-9 and Shah. SP Bhim Prasad Dhakal said that search for other absconding accused is on. 25-year-old Jitendra Mandal Khang of Terhauta VDC-3 is remanded in Rajbiraj Prison following the order of District Court on May 7. 18-year-old Dipak Kherbar Yadavof Saterjhora VDC-2, Sunsari is also absconding following the decision of Appellate Court on June 11 to remand him in custody.

The District Court had released him on the date. The victim had filed a complaint at the District Police Office on March 27, 2015, accusing that she was gang-raped on the same day at the room of Amar Kumar Yadav who was renting a room at the house of Bhupendra Yadav in Rajbiraj-5. Medical check-up of the victim was conducted at Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rabjiraj. Police had arrested Jitendra and Dipak among the accused on April 8 after registering a rape case against them a day before.
