A woman has been sent to her parents' house by her in-laws demanding an additional sum of rupees 13 lakh in dowry. Rekha Shah, daughter of businessman Hari Narayan Shah, was married to pilot Shrawan Shah, youngest son of MPRF leader Sajib Shah, 8 months ago. The groom's family had asked for 41 lakh rupees cash and additional gold and silver jewellery as dowry during the wedding. The bride's father had given 36 lakh rupees through bank transfer and remaining by cash. However, the bride returned to her parents' house after being tormented and subjected to domestic violence by her in-laws demanding more dowry. Her family have sought police help regarding the case.
