The District Court of Makawanpur has slapped seven-year jail term to Hasta Bahadur Ghodasaini, 60, of Aaambhanjyan VDC-5, convicting him of raping a 15-year-old girl. The court ordered the perpetrator to provide Rs. 100,000 to the victim as compensation. District Judge Dayaram Dhakal handed over the verdict on March 14. A complaint was lodged against Ghodasaini on the charge of raping the girl on August 28. Police arrested Ghodasaini on December 9 after the victim became pregnant. He was remanded in Bhimfedi prison.
