A man from Lamahi Municipality in Dang district beat his mother to death while being drunk. Police on Saturday arrested 32-year-old Bimal Rawat of Lamahi-8 on the charges of beating his 80-year-old Mangala Devi Rawat to death. The perpetrator, who was under the influence of alcohol severely thrashed his mother absconded after the incident on Monday, police said. The victim died on Friday night while undergoing treatment at Rapti Sub-regional Hospital in Ghorahi. The inspector at Ward Police Office in Lamahi Prem Khadka said the security personnel nabbed the fleeing Bimal from Saigha VDC-9. The case is under investigation, Khadka said.
