An 18-month-old minor girl has been injured after being severely beaten by her father in Khotang. Police made public Chandhowj Rai of Buipa-1 on Tuesday, who was arrested for beating and injuring his minor daughter. According to the police, Chandhowj Rai beat his minor daughter on Sunday, leaving her with bruises on her stomach, back and foot. Police said that Chandhowj beat the girl after being tired of bringing her up. The injured minor is undergoing treatment at District Hospital. Police arrested Chandhowj on Sunday and made him public on Tuesday. The injured girl is Chandhowj's step-daughter from his third marriage with Ramila Rai. According to, Chandhowj's neighbour, he often used to beat and drown the minor girl in the water. Chandhowj also has a son and a daughter from his first husband.
