A group led by the nephew of the mayor of Kalyanpur Municipality have assaulted locals of the Dalit community in Kalyanpur Municipality-3 Prasahi Tol on the night of August 30. 5 persons were injured in the assault. The injured are  25-year-old Devsharan Mahara, 19-year-old Rajudevi Mahara, 45-year-old Debren Mahara, and 40-year-old Sanodevi Mahara. The group also assaulted 19-year-old Bikaru Mandal, son of Bishnudev Mandal. The attacking group was led by the suspended mayor of the municipality Suryanath Mandal's nephew.
