One-armed man has died in an exchange of fire between a group of armed men and police at Khairwa Bahorawa, south of the district on February 13. The deceased has not yet been identified. SP Suresh Basnet said that the man, seriously injured in the incident that occurred around 4 pm, died while being taken the hospital for treatment. Basnet said the police had retaliated after coming under attack from the armed group near Bagmati Dam. After the gang fired two shots at the police, police opened fire at the team. Two police constables Surendra Chaudhary and Sanjiv Jha were also injured in the incident. Police have recovered a Chinese pistol and a locally-made gun. SP Basnet said that the pistol was looted by a group from ASI Labjung Chauhan in Harbathawa, Sarlahi on December 3, 2010.
