People of Parsa district, where the number of people infected with corona is the highest, especially those living in Ward no.3 including Ward no.2 and 16 are being discriminated against. Locals of Ward no.3 complain that especially industry, bank, hospital, and even police discriminate them.
Surya Nepal restricted not only employees of ward no.3 but everyone from Birgunj to enter the factory. An employee said that the factory did not allow entrance even after some employees brought the PCR test report.
Similarly, Nepal Bank Ltd., Agriculture Development Bank, Nabil Bank, and other banks denied entry of the employees of Birgunj-3 working in the bank.
Similarly, National Medical College banned the employees of the ward working there. The College gave them a half month's leave to stay at home.
Chairman of the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gopal Kedia said that he did not receive any complaint about such incidents as most of the industries are located in Bara district.
