Tiger Palace employees in protest demanding reinstatement

Terminated employees of Tiger Palace Resort based at Tillottama, Rupandehi, have picketed the resort on Monday, demanding  reinstatement in their job.The terminated employees were in protest after the resort administration  sent an email saying the contract would not be renewed.

Nearly two hundred employees chanted different slogans demanding their resettlement. The agitated employees accused that they were treated unfairly by the administration. Numerous security personnel have been deployed at the resort after the workers went on strike.

The company’s top management team is based in Australia and Hong Kong as Tiger Palace Resort was built with a foreign investment.  The resort currently has only private security guards and some foreign staff.

Indra Bhattarai, the hotel’s HR manager, said he had also received an email saying his contract would not be renewed and that he would not comment on the workers’ agitation as he was not in the resort.
