Palpa, 5th October. Nepali Congress (NC) Palpa has staged a protest in the district headquarters Tansen, palpa on Monday after the state government took the proposal to make Deukhuri the permanent capital to the state assembly without discussing with opposition parties. They accursed the government saying that the state government is trying to take over the permanent capital of the province as the temporary capital has been fixed in Butwal of the neighboring district Rupandehi.

The protest started from the Congress District Party Office, Silkhan, and turned into a corner rally in front of the District Administration Office.The Congress has also staged a protest in Rampur of East Palpa over the issue of the capital.

NC accused some CPN (Maoist) leaders for manipulating to move the province capital in the name of ministerial posts and the state government for entrapping people in conflict over the issue of capital. As per them, they were given false assurance that the capital would be kept in Rupandehi. Until the proposal to shift the capital to Dang is withdrawn completely, they are more likely to continue the agitation programs.
