Workers has obstructed the work of the 900-megawatt Arun III Hydropower Project under construction at Makalu Rural Municipality-5 Faxinda Dobhan since December 7. They have halted all work at the hydropower project expressing dissatisfaction with the contractor construction company for not increasing their wages for a long time and not giving work to the local workers. 

The construction work is being undertaken by the Indian construction company JP Associates Construction. Earlier, it was agreed to increase the wages immediately after the workers demanded an increase however the company has not complied with the agreement even after nine months.
