On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Human Rights and Peace Society has staged a demonstration in Boudha, Kathmandu on Sunday.
As the root cause of caste discrimination is impunity, the Kathmandu branch of the Peace Society has stated that they staged the demonstration as pressure to end impunity and guarantee social justice.
State Assembly MPs Kalpana Nepali and Chhiring Dorje Lama, Central President of Dalit Students Association Raju Sunar, activists Homkant Chaulagai, Uttam Pudasaini, and Ram Krishna Baral were present in the demonstration.
Similarly, the Human Rights and Peace Society has organized programs in various districts outside the Kathmandu Valley on Sunday in connection with the Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
