Labourers working at Sagarnath Forest Development Project on a daily basis wage staged a sit-in in the main gate of the office on April 15, demanding implementation of the Labor Act. Santosh Sah, president of the project’s trade union, said that they have started protest part as their demands were not addressed despite repeated written notifications to implement the Labor Act. A total of 136 people are working as labourers in the project.
